SiS Unveils New Multi-Touch Panel Controller IC: SiS810.

Touch Screen Technology getting popularity day by day. Many chip manufacturers are investing huge amount to produce quality Multi-Touch Panel Control Processor. Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) has unveiled a capacitive multi-touch panel control IC called SiS810.

The SiS810 is a 32bit RISC touch-screen panel IC with a 12bit analog-to-digital converter (12bit ADC) which supports 42 sensor inputs for panel sizes up to 8.9-inch. To deliver real-time playback, an operating environment of 300ppi high resolution at 100Hz sampling rate is required and SiS810 supports that features.

Due to the high speed MCU with a filtering management algorithm, SiS810 has implemented a unique know-how based on the perfect architecture of its H/W, S/W and embedded filters to filter out the unexpected coupling noise by hand/fingers operation on LCD/LED panel.

The SiS810 adopts a Halogen free 9×9mm 64-pin QFN package and is compliant with Windows 7. SiS said that it would continue to strengthen its product portfolio to offer the full software package solutions to support Windows XP, Windows Vista, WinCE and Linux applications in various touch screen sizes applications. Engineering samples are available now for design and validation. Mass production is expected to start in early third quarter of 2009.
